Are your brows thinned out because of years of plucking or waxing? Do you long for the days when you had full eyebrows? If you answered yes to these questions, then chances are you’re searching for a way to fix your thinning eyebrows.
An eyebrow transplant is a real fix for sparse brows. Thin, patchy brows are often the result of over-plucking, but the problem may also be dueto aging, genetics, or illness. Whatever the reason, an eyebrow transplant can help you achieve the fuller, natural looking brows you desire.
What’s an eyebrow transplant?
An eyebrow transplant is a procedure in which hairs are transplanted to the eyebrows to make them fuller and bushier. The hairs used for the eyebrow transplants are usually taken from the back of the head.
How does it work?
The process involved in eyebrow transplant is similar to a normal hair transplant procedure. The surgeon will use either the Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) technique, also known as the strip method,or the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique to fix your eyebrows.
With the FUT method, the surgeon will remove a strip of tissue containing hair follicles from the donor area. The strip is processed and separated into single follicular grafts that are transplanted into the brows. However with FUE, the hair follicles are extracted individually, not in strips.
The procedure is generally done under a local anesthetic, and downtime is minimal. The hairs will start to grow within 3-4 months and final results can be seen after about 9 months.
Eyebrow transplantation is available at Awaken Aesthetics, Torrance, CA and is performed by facial plastic surgeon Dr. Natalie Attenello. Dr. Attenello is also an expert in hair transplantation, so you can be sure that you will get the finest results.
